Activities in Vienna

On this page you will find some exciting activities you can do in Vienna. Viena Connect has researched the activities quite extensively. Vienna has known some great architects. It would be a good idea to take a tour and view as many of the city’s beautiful buildings as possible. Vienna is an incredible city with a rich culture. There hundreds of museums and theatres in Vienna. The Hapsburgs (The royal family of Austria who mainly lived in Vienna) had a really positive effect on the city’s culture. Thanks to the Hapsburg Royal Family’s (slightly) eccentric behaviour, Vienna has developed in to one of the most impressive cultural cities in Europe, second to none. There are definitely some great activities and sightseeing tours in Vienna. They do not have anything to do with Vienna Connect, unless otherwise stated. As such, we can not take any responsibility for the quality of these activities. You will have to contact them and decide for yourself.

Accomodations in Vienna

Because Vienna is such a tourist city, there’re many hotels, hostels and other kinds of accommodations. In Vienna you’ll find the most hotels in the first nine districts of the city. These are also most of the time the most expensive. In the first nine districts you won’t find that much Hostels. Most hostels can be found around district number nine.
If you’re looking for an apartment, then you should look around the higher districts numbers. There’re some nice apartments in the centre of the city for rent but they just cost a lot of money.
When you’re looking for a shared room, the best place to look is around the school universities. There you’ll find the most shared apartments and those apartments are not that expensive.

For a longer stay in Vienna it’s recommended to register your self by the local police. Within three days after your arrival in Vienna you have to register at the respective district police office.  What you need is: a valid passport and a completed form that is called in German a "Meldezettel" with 5 carbon copies. You can get this form at all tobacconists for 6 Euro, and has to be signed by your landlord. At the end of your stay you most go back with the right documentation (your passport and all copies of the registration form) to the local police office (the same one you went the first time) and cancel your registration.
